What is the Fremantle Treasure Hunt?

The Fremantle Treasure Hunt is a self-guided puzzle adventure across Fremantle. Players receive a mysterious map filled with puzzles that lead them to hidden beacons around the city. Solve the clues, unlock the story, and you will discover the final solution that take you to a secret location to complete your mission.

When does the treasure hunt take place?

The treasure hunt is available to play year-round! Rain, hail, or shine.

As this treasure hunt involves interacting with Freo businesses we recommend playing between the hours of 9am - 5pm (Monday - Sunday) and checking the participating venue operating hours.

Where does it take place?

The game takes place throughout Fremantle, Western Australia. All puzzle locations are within the Fremantle area and accessible on foot within a 500m radius of Fremantle CBD.

Where do I start?

You can start anywhere within Fremantle.. The treasure hunt is non-linear, meaning you can begin with any location shown on the map marked by an X.

How long does the treasure hunt take?

The treasure hunt should take approximately 60–90 minutes to complete, depending on how quickly players solve the puzzles. However the experience is designed to play at your own pace.

How do I get the map?

You can purchase a downloadable A3 treasure map that will be instantly available for you to print and play. Make sure your printer can do A3 as smaller paper size may reduce legibility.

You can purchase a physical A3 treasure map, 160GSM on premium satin finish paper, posted to your door via Australia Post.

You can visit Fox In A Box Escape Rooms at 34 Adelaide St, Fremantle WA 6160 to purchase a physical A3 treasure map and start immediately.
